More than 1,300 Attend UNI Fun & Fitness Fair

On Saturday, May 13, the Urban Neighborhood Initiative (UNI) partnered with the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and several other community organizations to host the second-annual outdoor Fun & Fitness Fair. The fair, which attracted more than 1,300 people from the community, was held on the campus of the Kansas City Police East Patrol Division Station.

All fair attendees received free food and 150 bikes and helmets were raffled off to children and families. The fair also offered free hip hop fitness demonstrations, children’s games, a DJ, carnival events and various family-friendly activities for members of the Kansas City community.

Additional event sponsors and partners included the Black Health Care Coalition, Healthy Living KC, Home State Health, the Urban League of Kansas City, Bike Walk KC and The Bike Shop.
